Colors and U2 albums
« on: February 20, 2009, 09:30:06 PM »
I know I've read that sometimes music brings to mind connotations of colors for people.  I know that it does for me, and it's always fascinating to see which color I associate with a new U2 album.  I'd be curious to hear which colors other people associate with the overall music of each U2 album, too (provided that you even do, of course).  Here's mine:

Boy -- Royal Blue
October -- White
War -- Bright Red
Unforgettable Fire -- Purple
Joshua Tree -- Dark Gold
Rattle & Hum -- Yellow
Achtung Baby -- Shiny metallic-black
Zooropa -- Violet
Pop -- Orange
ATYCLB -- Bright Gold
HTDAAB -- Dark red
NLOTH -- Cerulean

I like the idea of this thread; I'll have to come back to it once I give it some thought. AB is a very colorful album, to me.  :)

Boy -- White (yeah because of the freaking cover ;D)
October -- Brownish, Grey (rainy day grey)
War -- Red
The Unforgettable Fire -- Yellow (I think it's a very "warm" album)
Joshua Tree -- Wine
Rattle & Hum -- Not really sure, I don't listen to it much actually. The cover comes to mind, which is mostly black...
Achtung Baby -- Light blue, almost white
Zooropa -- Green, Grey
Pop -- A Beige gradient, darker towards the end
All That You Can't Leave Behind -- Light grey
How to Dismantle an Atomic Bomb -- Red (do I need to explain? :P)
No Line on the Horizon -- Dark Red, Brown, Khaki (the whole Fez/Morocco idea)

And now all the U2 colors:

Interesting, lots of red and brown shades...

Weird, I was about to make this exact thread and saw this.

Boy - White
October - Brown
War - Blood Red
The Unforgettable Fire - Dark Red/Maroon
The Joshua Tree - Black
Rattle & Hum - Black
Achtung Baby - Purple
Zooropa - Baby Blue
Pop - Yellow and Orange (SUNSHINE, sunsets, the sun in general)
ATYCLB - Silver
HTDAAB - Rust color of red
NLOTH - Royal Blue

Some things I find interesting are the albums I think of in blues and purples are my favorites (OS1 would also be a blue color to me).  And that no U2 albums make me think of greens.
