There was not a chance Rolling Stone was not gonna review this album highly.

Its as uncredible as NMEs 4/10 and saying Iris is the albums best song.

I hope they're on the next cover of RS after the Taylor Swift issue teased a new U2 album.

"In "Iris (Hold Me Close)," Bono sings to his mother, who died when he was 14, through a tangle of fondness and still-desperate yearning, in outbreaks of dreamy neo-operatic ascension over a creamy sea of keyboards and Clayton's dignified-disco bass figure. "You took me by the hand/I thought I was leading you," Bono recalls in a kind of embarrassed bliss. "But it was you who made me your man/Machine," he adds a playful shotgun reference to his youthful poetic conceit in Boy's "Twilight" ("In the shadows boy meets man") and his wife Ali. The teenage Bono once gave her Kraftwerk's The Man-Machine as a gift while they were dating"

Interesting.

I wonder if RS will name it album of the year, as they did with NLOTH.

The first 5 stars of SoI, I believe.

Don't know if I agree or disagree.

RS even goes back and revises history to give albums they didn't originally like better reviews.

Nobody cares what you think RS. Or you NME. Or you PF.

We can make up our own minds.

Well, most of us anyway.

I never let reviewers make up my mind about an album. That being said, it's good to see someone who has been reviewing albums for a very long time make some intelligent points about what he hears.

Well considering you get journals like Ptichfork overrating every single Radiohead album, I'm sure another journal is allowed to big up U2.

Hey does anyone spot that bit they are playing at the end of the video? One of the yet-to-be-released tracks perhaps?
