I think this makes up everyone's mind on which song they think is the weakest.

Doesn't change my mind really, it's an ok song but one I'm not fussed about one way or the other. Bob got the better song with SYCMIOYO, but that emotion was still raw for Bono. Iris is looking back more than three decades.

So now people will hate this song because of Chris Martin? That's sad.

I don't mind Chris Martin and I like Coldplay fine, so it doesn't bother me in the slightest. I really don't understand the hatred for either. You can like U2 and Coldplay at the same time. They're not mutually exclusive.

I don't mind either and also like Coldplay, but I do mind that Coldplay seems to get much more radio play...  ;)

One of the best tracks of SOI.

It doesn't mean the credit goes to Chris Martin.

Haha I don't mind Coldplay or Chris Martin either, I just know a lot of folks on this forum were upset about his possible involvement. It seems like in today's music scene, a song automatically becomes twice as popular if it says "ft." in the title. I think the fact that they haven't advertised that the song features him says a lot about their strategy. They want hits, but they aren't going to copy everyone else in order to get them.

It doesn't bother me, but it's not my favorite song either. The whole album is musically strong and a few songs are lyrically weak, like Iris.

Sorry, I think it is weak. It's not a terrible song, but it doesn't flow very well (lyrically) in my opinion. I get where he was going with it, but he didn't quite make it flow well enough to keep my interest.

That's the great thing about this album, even the "weaker" tracks are worthy.

I do think it is a longer song with a spot or two to cut it shorter for its release as a single.
