What's a radio?
A thing you have in the car that warns you for accidents, traffics Jams etc by interrupting the CD or MP3 player with announcements.

It was killed by video.

I'm going to play Iris on repeat tonight, see if it grows on me. I don't dislike the song, it's just there, if that makes sense.  If Martin played a part (which I have no problem with), would have been interesting to go a more traditional piano tune.

SO why is he not credited in the booklet? what does he do on the song? backing vocals? piano?
My laptop is good to me he would not open the page to the Coldplay website...

If you listen to the start of the song, you can hear "haunting" vocals which kinda sounds like "touch me... angel"  You also hear it over "...Iris...." and at the end of the song.

they probably asked him to do something cause he was kinda annoying being in the studio staring at them in awe and doing nothing.

Coldplay will most likely be going on tour next summer, maybe they will open up for u2 on some dates and Chris will play Iris with them. I can totally hear some piano accents being thrown in.

So now people will hate this song because of Chris Martin? That's sad.

It doesn't bother me, but it's not my favorite song either. The whole album is musically strong and a few songs are lyrically weak, like Iris.

Lyrically weak?? If you read what the songs about and then listen to the lyrics then i would say its bonos strongest song lyrically since sycmioyo. The lyrics are superb in my opinion

I don't mind Chris Martin and I like Coldplay fine, so it doesn't bother me in the slightest. I really don't understand the hatred for either. You can like U2 and Coldplay at the same time. They're not mutually exclusive.

I don't mind either and also like Coldplay, but I do mind that Coldplay seems to get much more radio play...  ;)

Because they went all Rhianna on us. U2 put out a straight rock album. No BS. I'm proud of them.

I don't think you understand what I mean: It Does Not Flow Well with the music to keep my interest.

You guys read the lyrics and think its great and that's what you talk about. But when someone says something about its flow, you go into freak out mode. Chill!!

Personally, I think SYCMIOYO is a much better song. Its more raw emotion and flows very well with the music.

He just did a bit of backing vocals judging by what I read. Let him have his moment with U2, after all he used to play A Sort of Homecoming for his child

Weird how he's not listed in the liner notes for the song though.

Neither was Chrissie Hynde for her work on Pride.
