Which U2 Classics should take a break on the next tour?
« on: October 20, 2014, 03:23:51 PM »
Either totally or light rotation off the most played U2 songs You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login.... Sorry if this will offend some people! But we need to make room for all 13 new tracks and some fan faves!

I say totally:
Pride
Bullet The Blue Sky (I feel like Please/Love and Peace/Raised by Wolves could go in the place)
UTEOW: There's enough SOI songs that could come alive like this classic
Elevation: A great one, but the Miracle will be a better fit

I'd like to pick more... but that would be impossible........ can they just make the concerts 4 hours???????????

All those you mentioned plus hopefully:I Will Follow, Even Better Than The Real Thing, I Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For, maybe With or Without You get a break.

Bullet the Blue Sky
ISHFWILF
Pride
SBS - not likely to be eliminated
In a Little While (not really a classic, but I hope it takes a break and I am sure I will be disappointed when it doesn't - with the Joey Ramone connection and all)
RTSS

I Will Follow: Play something -- ANYTHING -- else from Boy.
UTEOTW: Should have been gone two tours ago. It's time now.
City of Blinding Lights: Two tours was plenty.
Elevation: Not needed as long as Vertigo is in the set.
Walk On: Was flat as a pancake on 360.
Bullet The Blue Sky: Needs to stay on the bench.
With Or Without You: It's time. Not saying go away forever, but at least for the arena leg.

Pride, SBS, WOWY - the Walkmen parody was the nail in the coffin for me with these three. Yes, thatís superficial. No, I donít care.

I guess Bullet can stay on the bench. Iím curious what it will sound like after the layoff, though. Same with End of the World; itís one of my favorite U2 songs but it gets played out.

No, scratch that. If they figure out a cool/original way to do it, then go for it. The UTEOTW/New Yearís Day pair will always be awesome.

Kill Beautiful Day and Vertigo, too. The world doesnít need them anymore. All I Want is You can be done.

I know thatís down on the ďhitsĒ as most people know them, but as others have said here, if there are new songs that can fill the place of old ones in a set, bring out the newbies.
