Bono has been astonishing, great performance, he's getting better and better at singing it. Anyway, I hope that this acoustic thing ends soon because I've had enough of it.
So have I. U2 doing acoustic doesn't do it for me personally.
Don't want to be a downer, but I thought this was way over the top vocally.
You don't have to belt it out to make it moving.
I prefer the album version.
The highlight was when Larry and Adam came out... and Adam's hair  8)

I think these acustic-versions are horrible.
Bono yells too much. Fits better in the opera or a musical.

If U2 reduce their songs this way - they sound very thin. Without the effects Edge sounds like any other guitarist. I really hope this acoustic misery will soon be over.

Really? The most recent performances of EBW have been incredible. ESPECIALLY the most recent at MTV EMA's. Just speechless there.

Musically they sound nice. But the shrieking? I can live without the shrieking.

I think this performance has been one of the weaker ones. He's messed up some lyrics a couple of times now. It's not improving IMO.

Just back from the hydro and the boys absolutely nailed it. Bono did an amazing job tonight - his voice is in great shape at the minute. Hopefully we get a few shows here next year.

Great night I'm sure! I guess you didn't hang around to try to see them after?
no didn't hang around afterwards.

In a different musical climate royal blood could be huge, really huge Sadly I can't see a new band playing rock being huge these days.

They are an absolute breath of fresh air though and their album is superb.

It was a fine performance, but I wish they would have played Volcano or one of the other rockers on SOI.  For some reason, I find EBW to be a little boring. I think that is why Bono is sometimes shrieking the lyrics trying to force some emotion into it.

The people who are saying EBW is a new classic U2 song are wrong in my opinion. It's a good song, but not great.  They have reworked the song a few times for a reason.  EBW is lyrically interesting, but it doesn't come close to hitting the emotional chords of songs like WOWY or One or Beautiful Day.

I can't decide if my favorite part of this performance was Larry walking out and starting the drums or Bono on the last chorus when you see the sweat spraying off his face. DAmn intense either way!

I think for the tour Edge should do the chorus with him though.
