Yep, lost my pair at the very last screen.

An hour wasted.  Looks like I'm off to EBay.

KFROQ & TicketMasterBATER not a good combination. What a complete debacle. Oh well. I'll wait for my 27x for the REAL TOUR!! On my couch syncing the webcast to my Apple TV sipping on a few cold ones will be the best seat in the house anyways!!!

This onsale was the Vertigo presale all over again.

Where with Vertigo, the mistake was that tickets were guaranteed to anybody who joined the fan club, this time the error came when the Ticketmaster system rejected orders by telling buyers that the event was a restricted event and they were "out of the area".

Pulled GA tix first time around only to get the "out of area" message as well.

It took some doing but in the end I managed to get a single in the rafters for second night with the same card they rejected the first time.

Had four phones and one two laptops "in line" to buy the tickets. Finally got through about 15 minutes after sales opened with one of the phones. What a mess! What happens to the folks who are work or school and just have one device to use? I'm not complaining, but I think a lot of folks have a right to.

A friend of mine in Pasadena tried for tix (I can't get them - I am out of the area) and he got kicked out just the same.  Out of the area.

Setlist prediction for the KROQ show (it looks like the last couple of years the opening bands get about 5 songs and the headliner gets ~11-12 songs, with others getting 7-10):

The Miracle
Every Breaking Wave
Stuck in a Moment
California
ISHFWILF
Desire
Cedarwood Road
Staring at the Sun
Sunday Bloody Sunday
Stay
One
Song for Someone

Some ballsy choices there for a mixed audience! I wouldn't mind a bit, but I suspect we'll be seeing fewer SOI tunes and more warhorses. And call me crazy, but I think they've gotta close it with more of a rocker than SfS.

In 2008 The Cure played KROQ's Acoustic Christmas. I have the audio from it. It's 2 hours long. U2 has a little bit higher clout these days. They will get 2 hours at least. 20 songs.

I like the choices, but I agree that Song for Someone is an odd choice for a closer; SfS might make more sense in the middle of the setlist.

Since this is a X-Mas concert, it would make sense if U2 resurrected the Darlene Love cover they recorded for A Very Special Christmas.  I doubt that will happen because it's probably too demanding on Bono's vocals.  I COULD see U2 closing with either Streets or Bad.  And I can just picture Billy Corgan guest appearing on that closing song, whatever it is they choose to play

I was trying to think of older songs that would sound good stripped down and I  couldn't think of many. Maybe Angel of Harlem, but I don't want to hear that one live.  I am guessing they will do at least 4 from SoI, especially with all the love it has been getting.

I don't think they will get 2 hours.  I checked the set list for that night (cure in 2008) and there were 4 bands - that's it.  This time there are 9 and they are awesome.

It's only a matter of time before this gets cancelled.  Now I'm not as bummed about failing to get tickets.

I can't see any way Bono is able to perform in less than 4 weeks if he is just now having surgery.  The Tonight Show almost certainly won't happen until after the 1st of year either, since they take off for the holidays and I doubt he performs again for at least 6 weeks.
