I am reminded of a couple of important quotes right now. The first is from a C.S.Lewis story called The Horse and His Boy. In it the girl complains to Aslan when she has an encounter and is disciplined. She complains that Shasta the boy she has been traveling with has his own issues of pride and arrogance. Aslan responds to her "I only tell each person their own story."  I.e "that is between Shasta and me."

Bono has his own story before God that God is telling to him. I am sure this injury is part of it, but we can not assume which part. That is the deeply personal part of the story that is none of our business.
I guess you could say "God is a mirror in which each man sees himself."

This could give SOI live a new weight entirely...  I am sure this time of reflection will allow Bono to grow from many perspectives!
Depending on how much he is allowed to move around, he might just grow in the weight perspective.

There was the "Fat Elvis" period...could we see the "Fat Bono" period?

If he starts wearing sequined jumpsuits, look out!

Bottom line, good things and bad things happen to each and every one of us all the time.  It’s called life.  There’s something to be learned from everything.

Beautifully said. Too bad that none of us start out in this life in a wiser state of mind. And it's a shame that nearly all of us don't reach a decent level of understanding until we are so old that we can't really use it so well. But again - that's just life.
