Lol not debating angrily, just questioning. No hard feelings :). I always thought it was out of control just because Bono says it at concerts

Oh, no offence taken at all!  All good.  :) A healthy debate & I'm curious too. Another day not even listed ( although only released in Ireland).  Maybe that points to only album, US release, not international?

Out of control was U2 first single.

Yes released prior in 1979 in Ireland but not listed in the KROQ question. You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login

The release order seems to have been Out Of Control, Another Day, 11 O'Clock Tick Tock, A Day Without Me, I Will Follow. So just go with the first one of those that is listed as an option - Tick Tock?

It's a total trick question. Out Of Control was their first single. What they have for the choices it would be 11 O'clock Tick Tock. Touch was the b-side to it.

I've always considered U2-3 their first single, even though technically it was an EP (and initially a 12-inch release).  It had 3 songs on it: Out of Control, Stories for Boys and Boy/Girl.

Yeah, and Dave Fanning ran a listeners' vote to choose which track should be the A-side, with Out Of Control winning.

This was my instinct based on the choices & dates! Not including Out of Control though, makes me wonder if its US only single b/c the OOC & 11 O'Clock were ire singles, no? Or is this overthinking?  It's the trick question "What is U2's first single" when it throws that completely out.

The other one that possibly was a trick question was the year of their 1st Grammy.  JT came out in 1987 and Google searhces show them winning the 1987 Grammy, but the awards technically were held in March 1988.  So which will they say is correct?

And if they messed up the 1st single question, I am thinking they simply googled it and left it at 1987.
