I'm wondering who can't wait, on the one hand you want to build up anticipation and not hear anything, on the other hand, I have no self control, I have all 1336 of my U2 songs running in shuffle right now, less than 12 hours to go till my phoenix show!

I tend to avoid hearing music by the bands I'm seeing the day of the show, partly so I'm not sick of them by the time they start playing and partly because I don't really put much of an effort in doing so.

That being said, I don't have a problem with others doing it and sometimes if I'm hanging out with them, it's hard for me to avoid hearing whoever's playing anyway!

Edit: In the days before the show, yeah, I'll listen to them. But usually not the day of.

No, because I don't carry music around with me and I'm not at home on a show day...

On the day of the show, I think I won't be, but I could be wrong. I have an obvious U2 weakness. ;) I'm listening to U2 now after purposely NOT listening for a while. Generally, I'm not listening the day before up until right before I go to a show. It was so much fun on 360, as we drove to the venue the local rock stations were broadcasting live and playing U2 all day. They'd have traffic and live on the spot reports to build the anticipation. Then we sat in gridlock to get to the stadium; it was an entire city's event. It was a very BIG DEAL that U2 came to Baltimore! Loved it!!

I do and have always listened to U2 going in and when driving home from the show.  When I went to the San Jose show last week I listened to U2 the entire 4 hour drive there, I had made a special CD of tunes that I would think they would play for my Wife (it was her first U2 show) since she has listened to U2 before but was not a huge fan, she would not know some of the songs, so I wanted her to get familiar with some of the songs.
