Yeah, there was military presence. The band didn't comment on it from what I remember. But I think it would've been great if they had never played Russia (no offense to any Russian citizens out there).

Their military shenanigans.

Their rules on public demonstrations.

Their treatment of gays.

Oh I'm across all that. But there are arguments based on those criteria that u2 should not play the US, certain parts of Europe or Australia.

Yep, and I'm with you on that too :-)

Some people argue that music should not be associated with politics, but obviously U2's stance has always been the opposite - and good for them.

I also think it would be awesome if U2 or some other band didn't play the southern U.S. (Kind of like on this leg of the tour, only with intention)
