You get one question for Willie
« on: August 23, 2015, 12:48:18 PM »
Pretend that you bump into Willie Williams at a hotel. You’re both standing in line to check-in, so you’ve got maybe 3 minutes to chat. That’s enough time to ask him one question about the I+E tour.

What do you ask?

Could you dial down the hi tech and just keep the lone light bulb? If it's about the songs, the band doesn't need all the flashy visuals. Best part of show is the first 4 songs, just the band and a stage like it's 1980. Thanks, Willie.

Any chance of seeing the band perform Invisible out of that big screen?

Or....

Are the band thinking of doing a full band version of Every Breaking Wave live?

Could you have not convinced them to stick with the original idea of 2 nights, 2 different shows?  You could have told them to stop self-doubting themselves and start taking chances again.  Maybe all it takes is someone close in their camp to say something like this to them so that they might wake up and to realize that they have a great huge back catalog and they should use it. You know when Sprngsteen came on stage in NY, Bono said told the audience that this man has achieved a level that all bands aspire to achieve.  I wish they would take a page from him and start singing songs without worrying what percentage of the audience will know it.

How are you going to replicate the current stage in an outdoor venue?(assuming there is more shows to come next year)

I stole this from hj's Twitter, but I'd ask about Willie's Diaries. I miss them, and I think the past ones should be collected in a book (and he should be writing new ones).

I'd ask him if there's going to be a contest for fans to design a tour stage for U2.

"Do you ever actually consider how many fans have obstructed views with your ridiculous and unnecessary staging ideas?"

"Why did you not choose an "X" stage design so there are no 'side on' views?"

For stadium I think they'll run the 'bar' horizontally across the stage that comes out from the end on tracks so rotating the stage 90 degrees from current orientation.
