Did they play NYD fully? So strange that it has been shelved up until now when other less deserving "classic" songs are played every night.

Yes, played in its entirety.
Nice :) Wouldn't it be fantastic if they played a "tour debut" every night!!
Wouldn't that become a 'regular' set then?

I mean like a song they haven't played at all yet, this tour. They only have a couple of hundred to choose from!

Well, I did like the Metallica, Iron Maiden and Bruce Springsteen sets, where they played an album, or era. But that's not gonna happen, as U2 have said they don't want to be 'that kind' of band, but are searching that balance to be relevant.

If one cannot wait for the youtube versions to appear, here's a periscoped copy of New Year's Day.

MVP of this concert has to go to Edge during the NYD performance. He played piano, guitar and back up vocals. Yes, I know he always plays all three but he usually is at a standup keyboard. Sitting at a piano and playing guitar...a bit more complicated.

NYD sounds great and is welcome back. According to u2gigs the last time they played it was in Montreal 360 and I was there. Bono seemed to mention they played it for all of the Polish in the house. Sadly no dates for them this tour.

It is cool they played it and Zoo Station because they are geographically in the area of those songs but yet when they play these songs only once they tend to lose their impact over the long haul. Zooropa was such a thrill in 2011 because no had really heard it before. So the longer they hold out with a song, even a classic like NYD, the stronger the impact when it returns.

Just think how well rested Bullet sounds on this tour.

Wow both New Year's Day and Zoo Station sound so good that both should be staples in the set. Weakest songs for me currently are invisible and mysterious ways. Would be great if they swapped!
