A semi decent gig ruined by Patti Smith
« on: October 29, 2015, 05:29:17 PM »
I am so disappointed tonight. The band pulled me back by playing Bad which i was so happy about only to bring out Patti Smith (without really an introduction) to play a truly terrible last song. Very hit and miss tonight I'm afraid. Patti belongs in gods waiting room, what were they thinking?!

That is a bit harsh for me.

I thought she was good and even though it is a clunker of a song - it came over and went down well.

I thought tonight was a good show

Gloria, NYD and Bad - I thought whilst they weren't absolutely on fire (no pun intended) it was a good gig.

Very hit and miss. The sound was terrible in there though I must say.

It seems inconsitent....i started off on the edge of the red zone on edges side and as the gig progressed i moved further in towards the middle and slightly closer to the e stage and it was pretty good there.

Bono was very trebley again and much like on record too front of mix for me.

I will post a review tomorrow- I am still recovering from what I witnessed tonight...

And yes, the souns did seem a bit dodgy at times: sounded like Bono had inhaled helium.

Were you in the same arena as me? And did someone say Noel Gallagher was the best moment of the tour? Patti just blew that away. People Have The Power was mindblowing. And night 3 improved on night 2 in general.

That was by far the best guest appearance I have ever seen. Edge was totally with the tune. It was almost like it was a U2 song. Unbelievable.

It was diabolical at the end. Bad redeemed the night for me until that moment. A truly hit and miss night. UTEOTW, NYD, October, Bad, Iris, WOWY, Pride, COBL, SBS. These were the only songs which connected for me tonight. Streets had a lack of energy. Sunday and Bloody Sunday is the best performance of the tour by a mile.

I wasn't there but she was the primary inspiration for their band and also has the theme song for the entire tour so.....

Streets has lost something....even the opening isn't quite the highlight it was...
