I have loved her song "Because the Night" for many, many years but only now, like within the last week, do I think I know what the songs means.

I think U2 have cited this song as the one they wish they'd written.

This song made one of my fave singers become a singer, so I'll cut some slack for Smith, even if I don't know or like much of her works.

I know exactly what you mean.  It was an EXTRA song people.  If you didn't like it you could've gone home after Bad.  Smith means so much to the band.  It was wonderful she went onstage and sang with them.

I'm no expert, but at 26 songs it ties at joint 2nd longest set the band have ever played. You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login doesn't it? I know that hasn't been updated since the start of I+E, and Cologne #2 is the longest show, but 26 songs and 2 hours 30 minutes makes it very near the Moncton 2011 show for length, and only surpassed by Cologne#2 for songs?

Is it normal to have post U2 concert blues?

Yes, definitely. It's really horrible, isn't it?

And the better the gig, the worse the come down ... 23 years of watching them & I still haven't found a solution!

I think it is much worse considering its my first! Just hoping that they come around again soon, if it's touring for Songs of Experience or whatever. And I see what you did there, if you meant it  :P

Had a good chat with a guy in a James hoodie in the GA line, a long time fan of both bands. Saw him both nights we went. He's done 8 gigs on this tour now.

Pretty mixed bunch the UK James fans. I remember many of the forumers on Wearejames hated on Bono and U2 vehemently and vigorously, yet here you have that bloke in line, and our own Smee and yourself (iirc).

Fantastic song

Anyone on here seen any REM shows?

Milton Keynes Bowl - 1995....was like a mini festival and a great show.
Twickenham in 2008...was good - the excellent Editors supported them.
