Inspiration from U2? Muse new tour stage
« on: December 16, 2015, 11:18:43 PM »
Muses stage is unbelievable. It's what we expected to have with the map we were given last year when buying tickets and its in the round. Reminds me of 360 tour.

Basically what 360 would have been as an indoor show.

This article goes further and say they are even better than U2 in concert and probably the best live band in the past 8 years.  I don't listen or know much about Muse this looks like a ripoff of U2 360 and to put them in U2's category seems premature at this stage.  U2 have done some of the biggest rock tours of all time.  I don't think any Muse tours of cracked the top 10?  Well it was a nice laugh for the morning.

muse has great musical chops (so much better than U2), a great stage show, but so little heart and personality live.

Nah I'll take U2 on an off night over them any time.

It's going to be an amazing show, I'm sure. I've got some decent 100 level seats too, so I'll be right in the action when they come around in Jan.
I went to a show off their last tour, and I've gotta say it was better than the chicago 360 one I saw.

To me, the youtube clips of Muse look like what U2 should have done with the 360 tour.

What irked me about 360 was that they took a good idea and executed it to about 2/3 of completion.

The 360 tour should have been called the 280 tour. The stage still sat at one end of the Stadium and there was no one on the floor behind them. In certain Stadiums, some of the rear seating directly behind the stage was tarped off.

Furthermore, the band still faced downwards to the one end of the stadium for 95% of the show. They also made poor use of Larry's revolving drum kit.

The Muse setup seems much more thought out. ( Granted they had the luxury to see what worked and what didn't with the 360 tour and build on it ) The stage is in the actual middle of the arena with equal amount of fans on all sides of the stage. Its truly playing "in the round"

I seen them support U2 in New York 2009 they were superb not many people around us knew who they were but they won everyone over. I Remember reading in Q magazine how they learned alot from touring with U2 especially how to work a crowd & stage presence. I think its great that theres another band out there trying to push the boundries live...they should be applauded.

Not really into their music but the stage was cool. Much better then I&E. The thin curtain with the projection shown on them is not going to kill the sight lines of thousands of people who paid full price for the tickets.
