Worrying quote from Edge RS interview
« on: March 25, 2016, 02:42:54 AM »
I don't know if this has been picked up elsewhere but I couldn't/could believe it when I read this quote from the Edge article in Rolling Stone..."It's late March, and the guitarist is in Los Angeles at a studio where he is working on the beginning stages of U2's next record and experimenting with two new instruments"
Surely they're not starting from scratch again!

The quote is not from Edge.. It's not something he said.

Whoever wrote that article is probably referencing his Fender interview, where he says it's the "beginnings of something"

It's obvious the quote isn't directly from Edge but Rolling Stone seem to be quite close to U2 and i would say "where he is working on the beginning stages of U2's next record" is a fairly unambiguous quote.

Songs of Indecisiveness. Coming sometime in the next 5-10 years. Maybe.

If you believe in the old adage that the best predictor of future behavior is past behavior you won't be on the edge (no pun intended) of your seat waiting for this album. Find a book to read, some other music to listen, go on vacation, make your Xmas plans. Should be out a year or so from now.

Looks like waiting is the only thing we know is exact. No guessing on this one it will come at some point in time.

The last u2 album was released about 18 months ago...

They have released 5 albums in the last 20 years - anything that arrives within the next 2-3 years is a potential bonus. If it arrives even sooner then its potentially a big bonus.

There really is no need to start getting impatient or restless about a new u2 album.

In this case I believe the instruments are two new guitars.
