I'd like them to work with Butch Vig I think he could awaken the rhythm section especially Larry.

Interesting piece here on his style...

It would help if he wasn't buried so far back in the mix...

Yeah, but if the drums are louder it will make it hard for Bono's vocals to be three times as prominent as they should be, so.

I'd like to hear this too. The closest we've gotten is his 'additional production and mixing' on the single version of Walk On: You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login

haha yea.. They got to stop with that. Bono's voice used to be like an instrument, well-integrated and well-balanced. His voice stands out too much for most of SOI with the exception of EBW imo (original version only, piano version is the complete opposite).

Thank you for posting this.  I agree that U2 needs to move the drums up in the mix for a more dynamic sound.  More Larry and Adam and a little less Bono.

Yes, that's him...  I see a little bit of this guy's attitude in Bono's picture with Pharrell and Ryan Tedder.  The Fly doesn't need to make a full return, but maybe he can come back as a consultant along with MacPhisto.

Regarding the mixing, I agree but I'd rather say more Larry and Edge and less Bono. SOI is yet another showcase for Adam who is in his prime right now. Involving Adam more extensively in the songwriting process more at this point would also be a good idea.

Oh, and Pharrell ... I don't really like Pharrell because of "Blurred Lines".
