U2 join Calle 13, Ricky Martin and Lionel Messi in sharing their condolences to the victims of the 7.8 magnitude earthquake.
The Irish rock band U2 published on Twitter a message of solidarity with the victims of the 7.8 magnitude earthquake that hit Ecuador last Saturday and that so far has claimed the lives of more than 500 victims and injured more than 4,000.

“We remember the people of Ecuador.. You are in our prayers," they wrote.

U2 are not the only celebrity figures to have expressed solidarity with Ecuador. Ricky Martin, Calle 13, Bianca Jagger, and Lionel Messi have shared similar messages of support.

Ecuador Earthquake Solidarity Is Nothing New for Cuba

Meanwhile, rescue crews and aid from Latin America and beyond have poured into the Ecuador since the earthquake, which caused widespread damage throughout the country, especially to coastal regions.

On Early Wednesday a magnitude 6.2 earthquake struck off the coast of the South American country again. The quake was near the coastal city of Esmeraldas at a shallow depth of 10 km, the Pacific Tsunami Warning Center reported.
