What are some examples you know of U2's music being plagiarized or sampled? Also, are U2 themselves guilty of doing this to other artists? Here are some examples:

"When You Were Young" - The Killers sounds like Miracle Drug. You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login
I don't know about this one. Seems very similar to Miracle Drug, but it's just a couple of repeated notes, so I doubt it's a blatant ripoff.

"Loved You First" - One Direction sounds like Where The Streets Have No Name You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login
Almost didn't include this. It's only a few seconds long, but some think it sounds like Streets.

Do You Feel Loved sounds like "Alien Groove Sensation" - Naked Funk You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login
Okay, this one is identical. U2 totally took this one from Naked Funk! The guitar riff is the same, and many have pointed out that the bass and drums feel pretty similar, as well. This has to have been sampled, though. No way this wouldn't have resulted in a lawsuit otherwise.

Lemon sounds like "Claroscuro" - Soda Stereo You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login
Meh, somewhat close. I don't think is one is plagiarized.

Blow Your House Down sounds like "Eighties" - Killing Joke You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login
Sounds a little bit like Blow Your House Down. Not ripped off, but possibly an influence on the song. Many people have pointed out it does seem suspiciously similar to "Come As You Are" by Nirvana.

Anyway, there are a few I've found while searching a bit on the Internet.

Add Walk the Moon's Shut Up and Dance for Streets. I think we have a similar topical thread on here somewhere. I recall this being mentioned and my youngest daughter recognized it immediately as the same riff.

I think Dirty Day's guitar riff is replicated in Beady Eye's Second Bite of the Apple. You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login

Several think Crystal Ballroom sounds like Roxy Music's Love Is The Drug. You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login

Shut Up and Dance by Walk the Moon is a pure U2 rip off. Awful song.

I always thought that Dirty Day sounded a little similar to Donnie Iris's song Ah Leah

How about U2 ripping themselves off:  NLOTH has a similar riff to The Fly.

Bryan Adam's All I Want Is You is basically the same as U2's version, just sounds a bit more like his style.

Says "inspired by" if I recall. It sounds a little more than an inspiration though. The music is basically copied.

Music from Bullet the Blue Sky was lifted from Ted Nugents song Stranglehold

The Miracles main riff sounds similar to Iron Maidens The Wicker Man's opening big riff

U2's rendition of "North and South of the River" (one of my favorites) lifts quite a bit from Bowie's "Can You Hear Me"

I think that one is a bit of a stretch. They just share similar rhythm patterns in their intros.

Ya, not a lot that's similar, just that big crunching riff.

I've heard some people say that their copies of Pop read "inspired by Naked Funk" but others don't see that.
