It's because nobody cares about a new U2 album - they're culturally insignificant now.  They were pretty low down on Stereogum's list of 100 anticipated albums too.  That's what happens when you pander...

GQ has a very small demographic in its audience.  I don't expect they would ever mention any bands I'd care about.

Didn't Adam Clayton do a pretty prominent piece with GQ not that long ago....you might have thought that would be enough to score them a mention here....

Eh, a good chunk of that list is currently trendy music. There's no real mention of any rock band here because rock music isn't really trendy right now. I don't consider John Mayer to be rock.

Eh, a good chunk of that list is currently trendy music. There's no real mention of any rock band here because rock music isn't really trendy right now. I don't consider John Mayer to be rock.

John Mayer is trendy again?

Still gets pop radio airplay from time to time. More than U2 can say at this point.

"Song for Someone" was played a lot on the radio around here awhile back.
