Likeliness of more dates being added in US?
« on: January 17, 2017, 10:18:15 AM »
Hey all, what is the likeliness of more dates being added in the US? I live in Utah, and I've heard about a rumor for a possible Vegas show being announced, which would be closer to where I live. Or even a second Rose Bowl date, if I decide to wait? What do you all think?

I sort of doubt it. GAs are still available for Boston. If you want to see the tour, I would advise going to what we know for sure.

It would be nice but I doubt it at this point. I'd love to see the mid-west and south get a date or two.

Ticketmaster shows a second Chicago show for June 4th, presale starting tomorrow.
Good, since I was on exactly at 10am Central today, and couldn't find a single, solitary ticket to the 6/3 Chicago show...

They've started adding new shows. Saw the one for Chicago on June 4.

Yep. I stand corrected shows added for Chicago and the Meadowlands so far. Boston listed as sold out, so that could be coming as well.

Quick question about the second dates just announced I.e. Met Life stadium...

Would the band have booked the two nights in advance? And what if they first night didn't sell as well. Could they cancel the second show and get a refund?

This is exciting.  As a long time fan, I was wondering how or if U2 could still draw a full stadium crowd for individual shows..the fact that shows are being added makes that a moot point.  Seems like U2 still has it and fans still want to see them even in giant football stadiums!!!

It looks like 2 shows added so far.  It will be interesting to see if more are added.

Dear U2:

There is a place called the south and the midwest. We miss you...please come back.

Sincerely,

Southern U2 fans

Yes and yes. Bands frequently place 'holds' for dates well in advance and release the dates if they aren't needed. Several years ago, Bruce Springsteen had 'holds' on venues for a tour that never happened. It isn't like another band would have time to come in and set up for a stadium show on that second night if U2 decided not to use it.
