One of the greatest show I ever saw was Bowie's Ziggy Stardust tour back in the early 70's.
Wow, where did you see him at ? I saw him at Glastonbury in 2000 & he was amazing, loved to of seen him during his Ziggy stage but I was to young..

Zoo TV is something that sure as hell can't be duplicated - it was a perfect storm in more ways than one.

Philadelphia, twice...once in the ziggy days, and once in his leisure suit days. Both were awesome shows.

I was lucky enough to see lots of shows in the 70's.The Doobies, Bruce, Deep Purple, Loggins & Messina, Heart, Genesis, Kansas, Fleetwood Mac, Hall & Oates, Jethro Tull, Stevie Ray Vaughan, um...I know there are more...can't think of them right now. After the 70's, I wasn't able to get to any shows for a long while, but the 70's were great!

Riffy - you are a legend!  I know you're sad you haven't seen more U2 shows but I think most of us would swop our U2 shows to have seen some of the greats on your list, particularly Ziggy Stardust.

Good shout for Zoo TV. Nothing can top The Wall, though.
Fixed that one for you...  ;)

I would actually say that Zoo TV was the best stage show / tour since the original Wall shows in 1980 and '81.

A legend...doubtful! I'm sure there are those who have seen many more shows than I. But, I did remember a couple more...Warren Zevon, Harry Chapin, Blood Sweat and Tears, and believe it or not, Tom Jones! But, yeah, the best 70's was Ziggy and the Spiders.

Honestly, though... what other tours even come close to Zoo TV?

None. It was the greatest hands down. Seriously all these years later and no one has come close in my humble opinion.

Anyone think JT2017 will make the next version of this list?? :-P

Reunion tours should never make a list like this... but that's just my opinion.

I saw Zoo TV when I was 16 at Maple Leaf Gardens. F*** it was loud. Greatest show I've ever been to and I've seen them 11 times. The Pixies opened which was cool. It is still, and forever will be the greatest show ever. I think sometimes we forget it was 2 years after the 80's...so much technology. Unforgettable experience.

One of the 50, or 1 of 50?
One of the 50....they weren't ranked but were listed chronologically.  So 1992 belonged to U2.  They recognized 5 other U2 tours too.  Of course, Andy Greene wrote the article for ZooTV.

What were the other 5? 360 and IE?

Wondering the same thing.  I'd be I&E above all other U2 tours other than ZooTV.
