I am happy with hearing any new music in 2017 and if all we get is TLTTGYA I am pretty satisfied, especially if it is a taste of what's to come.

This band prefers the easy big bucks from touring TJT30 well into 2018 instead of finishing new music and releasing an album that was promised for so long. Embarrassing.

I still think we have a chance of an album this year. But my excitement for IE tour has died down. It feels so old now, especially after seeing TJT. It will be weird seeing them return to the previous tour.

How can they release an album if TJT tour is ongoing & being extended ?

It has to be one or the other.

I don't see an issue. If they release SOE, then the crowds are more likely to buy it after hearing "little things" or whatever single they perform and promote each night.
Bono: "this is from our new album we just released. Hope you enjoy it.."

When they release an album, they will have to do lots of promotional work. TV shows, interviews & make videos for the singles.

The record company will want them to tour the album, not sing a couple of songs from it on TJT tour.

They can't turn TJT into a SOE tour as people who have bought the tickets were expecting to hear JT era songs.

If the album is a long way away, RHMT should have been released as a proper single. Complete with new video. Go the whole hog. The song is good enough. But too late now.

Ditto 'The Little Things' as it's being played at concerts & TV shows.

At least that's something new & new ish for the fans.

Hopefully we'll get an I+E commemorative Tour in 5 years.

Ha! Unless we get the  "It's been 30 years and the album is FINALLY ready" tour.

U2 may feel they are under no obligation to release anything.

They are currently touring their most famous album.  This is obviously giving the fans what they want as the shows are selling out & the tour being extended. What more do people want, blood ?

The Edge's flippant remark on Jimmy Kimmel show's they don't feel guilty about delays.

It's only a delay when they say it'll be out by x, but don't make the deadline.

It's business as usual. ;)

As simple as this.

Some people are acting like Bonos comments amounted to a legally binding contract.

The band are currently at their most active for two decades, let's just enjoy the moment knowing that there's more to come.

So now we're in the phase where we can't even pretend this is going to come out when they said it would, so we'll act like it doesn't matter that they said it was coming out soon but it isn't.

Or quite possibly the last to come. Who knows? But maybe some people should be careful of what they wish for.

South American fans are finally getting some shows. SOE can wait if this is true.

Still of the view that there has been too much smoke for there not to be a fire when it comes to SoE.
