So, I volunteer with a community radio station in Chicago.  About two weeks before U2 played their shows at Soldier Field, I realized some cool connections I had with "The Joshua Tree."  Both the album and me turned 30 this year.  Also, 2017 was the year I acquired dual citizenship with Ireland, so that's a cool cultural connection.  And that really got me thinking about the deeper themes of the album.  I started to think about how my life changed over the last 30 years in relation to what was/is happening globally.

Anyway, I wrote my first blog piece for the radio station.  It is deeply personal and political and I thought I would share it with you.
