Picture of the article. If anyone can find the full thing please post here.

They made it sound dramatic like the band has no handlers to do stuff for them. Edge was the one who called B's vocal specialist in the US (some Harvard Dr, of course)

I imagine most things involving Bono are dramatic 😂

Great to see the original tweet with a photo of the newspaper article was from Ciara Lawrence, big U2 fan and Edge's cousin.

Here's an electronic version of the same article.

It's what I suspected happened, although I didn't realise the Dr was in the States and not there! And Edge calmly took over. I thought it was the smoke machines - and I wasn't there and also I'm no vocal expert!

So relieved (aren't we all included U2 and all their camp) that it was a temporary glitch for Bono.

The man can't get a break from health issues being so dramatic. Everything that happens to him seems to be so dramatic.
All these incidents have made me appreciate Bono even more.

Hope he has a great rest after the tour.

Although I'm not sure if I could forgive Ali for going to watch B*witched though!

Thanks for the electronic version. Apparent LIFE has a longer version of this piece, but can't find it.

I assumed their doc was travelling and under the stage with them. At this point, B might travel with a doc (for his heart or whatever it is), but not a vocal specialist I guess.

I did not believe Edge's comment that he contemplated singing lead vocals in Berlin 2018, because he didn't step up his singing at all during the doomed RFD and Beautiful Day!!

Would love to read the article but man, too many hoops to jump through. They make a big thing about cookies I had to agree to, then I was directed to answer a survey question "below"; when I scroll down it says to touch the screen to bookmark the site. I'm on a touchscreen so I'll probably trigger that getting to the stupid survey question. F that.

Maybe singing didn't occur to Edge on stage but only in the context of "can we continue this show" after they went below?

Oh wow, thanks for that!

God, that sounds like a pretty awful night for them.

Thumbs UP to Ali for apparently enjoying performances with her ringer OFF. Though I bet she has a plan B for that now. (Like Always Ring Through Selected Numbers).

Is it mean of me to think, "Gee, Larry, how replaceable is Bono feeling to you right now?" Oh, I don't take that too seriously, but it did pop into my head.

I don’t understand what this comment is referring to. Did I miss something?

Sorry, I wasn't very clear. But years ago Larry had said something along the lines of, none of U2 were irreplaceable, if one quit they'd just find someone else.

So I was thinking, at that moment when they thought there was a 70% chance of total vocal hemmorhage, was Larry still thinking, hey, another singer would fill Bono's shoes in U2 just fine?

But I'm not holding his feet to the fire or anything.

Weird he would say that. I wonder if he was kidding — he has a strange sense of humor sometimes.

That would be especially weird for Larry to say since, when the band was young and unsigned, a record company offered to sign them if they got rid of the drummer. Bono and the others said no way.

I don’t think U2 could lose any of the 4 of them and still be U2.

I agree.

I assume Larry was just in a mood at the time. A certain other band member grates on him because the certain band member has a large ego. And Larry has a role in keeping his feet somewhat on the ground.

But that band member is also his brother when it comes down to it.
