I will start my top twenty and then probably go over:
An Cat Dubh, The Ocean, I Will Follow, Tomorrow, October, Gloria, Sunday Bloody Sunday, 40, Mofo, Discoteque, Bad, Fez, Magnificent, Breathe, Moment of Surrender, Electrical Storm, Troubles, Luminous Times, Book of Your Heart, Love is All We Have Left,
Winter and Soon are up there somewhere....okay I'm done.

I literally spent hours trying to find the magic 20.  Conclusion: Impossible. Close to 300 songs in U2's catalogue and being a total fan for close to 40 yrs. now.  So, I winnowed it down to 10 lists of 20 songs.  The only permanent songs are the top 3 on the list.  All 10 lists can be mixed up, interchangeable, whatever...

Here's just one random list out of the 10 that has currently got my attention:

Oh, Lord, I forgot one of my absolute favorites "With or Without You".  "Love Comes Tumbling" is great, too.  An  impossible task.

Love Comes Tumbling is such a good song, I was wondering is it a different version of Boorerang II? I only noticed the two sounded similar yesterday when they both came on my playlist at the same time and I'was like this sounds familiar..

The easy way to do is to start off by thinking about what you feel is the best U2 song, and then the runner ups for best U2 song. You might have a list of nearly 10 songs doing that. So then you take those 10 songs and rank them. Then take them out of the list of the nearly 300 U2 songs and start the process over minus those 10 songs. What is the best of what's left, the best song. Gradually, you could eventually produce a list ranking every U2 song.

Scarlet is an interesting choice.  I am very fond of the whole "October" album and rank it amongst my top all-time albums.  The heavy rhythm section sounds great in the car on long journeys.

Interesting that's a very diverse selection and quite a healthy mix of 80's 90's and 2000's U2, I'm wondering do you like all era's equally? or are you more of a 80's person?

Thanks for asking, Fodiket.  I am one of those unusual types who appreciates almost all their eras and albums.  My favs are "October", "NLOTH" and "SOE" as far as whole albums go.  So, yes, probably different than most.  I love U2 in really all their incarnations. What are your favorite albums?
