To be honest I was always a bit 'meh' - but that kind of was how i felt about the whole album. That was then mind - and i've been listening to this (and No Line) a lot recently. Crumbs still isn't a stand out but it is still a great tune for me.

I've always liked the lyrics, but the music never grabbed me. It's one I've rarely listened to over the years.

That’s kind of where I am - I sometimes find it a strange song other times a refreshingly strange song

I barely know the song because I find Bomb so bland and unlistenable.

I do like the lyrical theme. I tried the song again due to this thread.

Zzzzzzzzzz

I'm not sure about 'best' song.  One of the better ones.  Yes. Definitely.  You can rock out to it and be soulfully inspired at the same time.  What's not to like?

Bomb definitely not my favorite U2 album but I think Crumbs is a quite good song.  The opening notes and guitar tone are cliche U2 but good anyway.  I feel about this song similar to how I feel about Little Things.

Very good song. I definitely like it more these days, even though I’ve always liked it.

Just listened again.  It's a nice tune with a good groove to it.

I hope they bring it back live in due course.  Sometime in the near-ish future.

I think it's great and would be an even better live track. I wish they would've played it on e&i instead of All Because of You. Although that's another one that is better live.

I honestly feel like Original of the Species is the greatest U2 track that nobody knows.

classic u2 - edge's chiming guitar, sweet bass lines, meaningful lyrics rightfully checking the hypocrisy of christian evangelicals.  not their best but holds its own.

To me it feels like it belongs in the same category as Crazy Tonight. I don't dislike it like a lot of people seem to throw shade at it, but it's not something I'd desperately want other people to hear.

I've gone back and listened to it a few times lately and have decided it's a very good song.  To be sure, it's quite odd, and has one of Bono's worst lyrics: "three to a bed, Sister Ann she said, dignity passes by."  (Or maybe it's so deep I just don't get it....?)  Nevertheless, there is just something very catchy and straightforward about it, and there's no doubt that it's got a great message.  As I remember, Bono is trying to sound a call to Christians, especially evangelicals, who pay little attention to social justice and poverty issues.
