From the 90s - their best known song was Fade Into You:

The rest of the album So Tonight That I Might See was also very good. But my favorite album is Among My Swan, which adds a kind of jazzy beat to their Mazzy sound.

I love "Fade Into You" on a different level than I do a lot of music.  Super cool song.

If you love Fade Into You but aren't familiar with other songs, try Blue Light from the same album.

Different tune but same kind of song. Ethereal, soothing.

Yes, I liked them.  They were ethereal.  But I preferred Lush's sound.

I like Mazzy Star.  Only songs I know are Fade Into You, Look On Down From the Bridge, and California.

Don't miss out on Hope Sandoval's work with both The Jesus and Mary Chain, and Massive Attack

When i lived at my mates, after splitting from my Kids Mother, i discovered Mazzy Star. I have to say, I did enjoy what songs i heard. That was about 15 yrs ago. Maybe its time to listen to them some more

I didn't know Hope was in Jesus and Mary Chain.

I also have She Hangs Brightly but I don't like it as much as Among My Swan and Tonight That I Might See. I listen to them as albums, not individual songs. The songs are consistently melancholy, so no surprises or change-ups along the way, which is a minus in general but a plus for Mazzy Star. When you're in a Mazzy Star mood you don't want to be startled, lol. And the songs are consistently good; the albums don't sag anywhere.

So if you like one song and you're in the mood, spin up the whole album, it won't take any getting used to.
