New Music 2019
« on: July 13, 2019, 07:59:32 AM »
I was wondering what everyone is thinking about the best new music in 2019.  What are your top 3-5 tracks of the year so far?  Here's mine:

The National - Light Years

Thanks. I liked the Beck one the best.

I'm looking forward to hearing it live next month!  It's been used all over ESPN this past year too.  It's surely the most up-tempo out of the 4.

Do you have any songs to add?  I'm always looking for new stuff.

I'm afraid Indon't have anything worth sharing, but add me to the list of those interested in people's contributions.

I'd actually settle for a few suggestions of other Beck work, recent or not. Would be interested in hearing a range of his songs that sound different from each other. I know only two or three.

All of “The Information”.  Also, his cover of The Korgis “Everybody’s Gotta Learn Sometime” is fantastic.

Some Beck....I'll try to do this in somewhat chronological order....oldest material first.
Two albums, Sea Change & Morning Phase provide departures from the kind of material most think about when thinking about Beck.  Some, actually prefer this side of Beck.  What Beck does in concert goes well beyond what he does in the studio, imo.  Great performer.

Album: Mellow Gold
Messin with my Head (Mountain Dew Rock)

Album: Odelay
Devil's Haircut
Hotwax
New Pollution
Where It's At

Album: Mutations
Cold Brains

Album: Midnite Vultures
Sexx Laws
Nicotine & Gravy
Peaches & Cream
Milk & Honey
Debra

Album: Sea Change (a departure from earlier stuff)
The Golden Age
Guess I'm Doing Fine
Lost Cause

Album: Geuro
E-Pro
Girl
Black Tambourine
Go It Alone

Album: The Information
Think I'm In Love

Album: Modern Guilt
Gamma Ray

Album: Morning Phase
Morning
A Heart is a Drum
Say Goodbye
Blue Moon

Album: Colors
Up All Night
Dreams (Colors Mix)
