Very bland and boring. The worst qualities of post-2000 U2 are on display here. The ethnic touch does not save it.

I agree that this for the most part a bland song.  They really do need to find a way to change things up on their next album.  After the last three albums, they need an Achtung Baby type re-invention of their sound.  I do like the idea of U2 finding inspiration in the music of other cultures.  That seemed to be the idea behind NLOTH, but they didn't follow thru on it.

Snoozefest.  I think we need a new term for this coldplay inspired style....Sleeprock maybe.

I really like it.  A new flavour for the band, which I like.  Itís just a very tranquil song.  I especially like the Indian girls sections at the beginning and end of the song.

Itís also extremely relistenable.  Iíve lost track of how many times IĎve listened to it in the last two days, but I think I might be fluent in Tamil by now.

I have also listened to it many times. If Songs of Ascent sees the light of day I imagine it tranquil as White as Snow, spiritual as MOS, poetic as One Tree Hill and with an ethnic touch like Ahimsa (in some songs)

Well, at least they used to be a great band and that's more than most bands can say.

Song is garbage even Coldplay would reject for sounding too much like Coldplay.

Meh, listed to it a couple of times a couple of days ago and havenít had a crazy urge to hear it again.  Not a horrible song, but not the sort of U2 music I tend to gravitate towards.  Interestingly, the girls singing is the part that sorta bugged me, but I see a poster above liked it, so itís all good - different strokes and all that.

it's grown on me.  I like it.  It's very spiritual and meditative.  There's a school of thought called 'interfaith dialogue' and I covered it on my Uni Religious Studies course.  It might seem like a 'U2 coming to India marketing ploy', and to an extent - it is.  What it also is - is a dialogue between the Western Abrahamic faiths and the Eastern 'deity' spiritualities.  Specifically Christian (U2 - Bono in particular) and Islam (AR Rahman) and Hindu, Sikh and Jain Indian cultural beliefs.

It does sound like it belongs on the latest Coldplay album.  If it is just a one-off song, it is OK.  However, if this is the direction of their next album, that would be bad news.  All artists including U2 are inspired by other artists, but U2 are at their best when they turn that inspiration into their own brand of music.

While I can understand them wanting to collaborate with artists form another country, this song just sounds as flat and dull as their last two albums(although those albums had a few exceptional tracks).

Just had a chance to listen to it.

"I'll meet you before the world was born"  I love the lyrics, I love the song.

Pretty decent song. Slow and meditative, which is not usually my favorite, but Bono does sound great.

Clearly a song written for the Indian fans during the Tour. I like the vocals, but I'm not too keen on the melody (too Coldplayish for my taste). There are a couple of Coldplay songs that I appreciate, but I prefer it when they're played by Coldplay themselves rather than U2.
I expect something else from U2...
