U2:Experience - Live in Berlin
« on: November 26, 2019, 07:43:47 PM »
WOOHOO!!!

I've been waiting so long for this.  Not thrilled that it's only 75 minutes, but I'm hopeful that the home release will have the whole show.  I'm also really hoping that it comes to HBO Canada.  What a way to ring in the new year!

Now, can we get that Joshua Tree 2017 video already!!!  I heard it was almost done at the beginning of 2019.  I'm kind of assuming they're just going to wait until the end of this Joshua Tree 2019 tour to throw in one or two bonus tracks from this leg of the tour on the Blu-ray.  Also, I'm sure some fan reactions from Australia, Japan, India, etc..  So hopefully it also shows up in the first half of 2020.

I love all these concert videos.  By far they're the DVD's/Blu-Rays in my collection, amongst all other movies, etc., that I watch the most.

Anyone else as pumped as I am?

 ;D

I donít watch a lot of unofficial clips, just because Iím not a fan of the quality...  Having said that, that one looks pretty good as I glanced at it.

too much chatter from Bono plus poor song selection...  they could've chosen either 'Vertigo' or 'Elevation' but not both...  same for 'You're The Best Thing About Me' and 'Summer of Love'...  choosing between these and cutting out Bono's rambling would've made way for something more diverse and interesting...  people go on about the 'i+e' "narrative" but truth be known there is no "narrative" here outside of which only the "narrator" himself can relate to...  if they're so bored with playing 'New Year's Day' that they have to mangle it like this then just drop it all together and play something else that you're not sick of...  easily their most forgettable concert document...:-)

This will be the first concert DVD that i won't be getting.  Not interested in paying to see this political rally for the EU.

Did I read that correctly... "on DVD"?

'U2 eXPERIENCE + iNNOCENCE - LIVE IN BERLIN', a unique celebration on DVD of the 2018 e+i tour shot on the closing night at Berlin's Mercedes-Benz Arena.

Hello, 4K is the new standard and 8k is soon to arrive.  Why not ship it as a digipak, where you get both the DVD and Blu-ray discs together... like so many other movie releases get!  You could even add a digital download too, using a one-time-code.  U2 always claim to be on the cutting-edge of technology... not so much here.

Captured in 4k multi-cam, compressed down to 2k, further compressed to 720p, further compressed to 480(i) interlaced standard video codec, aired (edited version) on cable world-wide release and now issued as a "fan club exclusive"?  Uhhhhh, that takes the cake for the worst re-gifting I've ever seen.  More reason I did not renew my subscription and I've been a paying member since the Propaganda publication days. So sad.

Sorry folks, I'm a huge fan like all of you, but this is really awful.  Please tell me I'm wrong.
