Miracle Drug

Worst song ever written.  I want to puke when I hear this piece of vomit.

+1

Wow really?  its one of my recent favs.  Oh well... taste is unpredictable I guess
And people really hate "In a Little While" too?

Both are some of their best songs.

Both seem to have received phenomenal crowd reactions by the middle to end of the song (you can tell not that many people know it towards the beginning of these songs, on bootleg recordings).  But by the end it gets some of the best crowd response.  Also it showcases Edge, Bono, Adam and Larry equally. Each have a highlight in different sections of Miracle Drug.

Its one of the songs that, for me, it was great on the album but really came to life on tour.  Bono always sang it with passion and all members always were able to take it to that everbuilding crescendo that U2 is soo f'n good at

A bit harsh about Pride there...I know we're all a bit bored with it now but for a long time an absolute classic, I enjoyed the performance at the Obama thing :
Loving the thread, heres mine :

Heartland
Fire
Last night on earth
Miracle Drug
Beautiful day
The Ocean
Slow Dancing
Man and a Woman
Window in the Skies
When I look at the world
COBL
All Because of you
Unkown caller
Fez
All along the watchtower

Now they're not necessarily bad songs but can you imagine the deflation !!!

White as Snow

Just because I think Pride is a dreadful song, doesn't mean I don't like U2.

I will admit they have lost me over the last few years. They're too big, too greedy and musically have become a bit boring. Although I think the new album is a step in the right direction.

I have a problem with the pre sale as I think it's really unfair on fans.

I'll go and see them as they're good entertainment although the spiders leg thing seems really naff. I'm 50/50 these days on U2 - I want to still love them but...

Worse than I'm Too Sexy?  Come, come now.

Worse than "Never Been to Me" by Charlene?

A nice idea for a thread. I'll try to make a realistic setlist.

Get on your boots
Crazy tonight
Moment of surrender
Vertigo
City of blinding lights
All because of you
Beautiful Day
Elevation
Stuck in the moment you can't get out of
Discotheque
Staring at the sun
Even better than the real thing
Mysterious ways
With or without you
Pride
Sunday Bloody Sunday
I will follow

Some of these are good, or even great songs but in the context they would only make things worse.
Also, I know they will certainly play One, Streets, Magnificent, Breathe etc. but I would enjoy those. :)

Besides that, I'm very well aware that the setlist for the upcoming tour might look like this.  :'(

Pride - the most lumpen, over blown, tedious song written by anyone - ever, with an unbelievable fluid guitar riff and solo from the Edge.  Anyone notice how he plays 3 different versions of the riff under the verses?
