Disappearance of "Real World" section
« on: March 17, 2009, 06:47:01 PM »
Heya m2 & Mods...

Been awhile and I just wanted to say great job on the new forum site but also I miss the "Real World" section!  :'(
(...unless its somewhere I can't figure out)....  ;D

If its gone, why'd it get cut?  I did meet some great U2buds there before, and although it can get heated in there, it was fun to debate non-U2 things going on, have a light fun with random topics and whatnot... ?

Thanks in advance,
p8

It is still here and booming, P8ru2!  Check the top of your screen.  It hasn't gotten heated in there lately -- in fact, a lot of us go straight there because of the positive vibe.  Hope you find your way back!

It's kind of ironic how the Real World thread is filled with a make believe disco, a make believe pub, and a make believe rock lounge.  :P

Yes we are, and the Real World sometimes is sort of like that Second Life thing people join, isnt it?

I was thinking that! The other boards are more "real world" than the Real World board itself!  ;D

I've been thinking that for awhile, and I realized just a few minutes ago that we play pretend in order to make our forum friendships seem more real.  It is like the internet is some wall, and if we could just pass through it we'd all be together -- having coffee, watching U2 films, etc. I still can't get my head around the fact that I have friends that I will probably NEVER see.

Awww, thanks MW! *smiles sentimentally*  Do Aussie boys drink their tea as properly as British ones?  I went to Betty's Tea Room in York, and nearly fell over in delight at all the men there taking their tea. I also nearly fell over in delight to see that they let dogs in even a fancy place like that. Here dogs aren't allowed in any buildings but pet stores. There was a pretty golden retriever next to meat Betty's, and the waiter brought her a dish of water, quick as you please.

You teens always make me derail threads . . . I bet poor P8 wishes that this one would quit rising to the top of the queue now that she's got her question answered.

What a shame. I guess I'll have DA and Nielsen play matchmaker for me in their nation instead!  Or are you using "proper" in a different sense?  *Tries to imagine an improper tea party. Succeeds.  Removes mind out of gutter and goes into the kitchen to make the dinner she "started" an hour ago*

I'm not sure if you just answered your own question, or if there was even a question in the first place  ;D
