Modifying and Deleting Posts?
« on: October 08, 2008, 02:43:14 PM »
For what period of time are you allowed to modify/delete your posts?

I am still given the option to modify or delete my first post from September 29.  That's 9 days old at this point.  Shouldn't it become locked at some point?

i would argue you have every right to modify what you want to say for as long as you want. technically it's your post, and it can change as you see fit...

trouble is...

i wouldnt have the slightest idea why this is happening...

That's pretty much my point.  If the original post is modified/deleted after a reasonable period of time, then the posts in response to that won't make sense anymore.

By replying using the "Quote" function, you lock in what you are replying to.  While the original quote could be modified down the road for whatever reason, the original version of it would be in the response.

Does that make sense?
