Advice for purchasing tickets, please...
« on: March 31, 2009, 02:55:45 PM »
Hi everyone,

I am a college student from North Carolina and I need some advice.

U2 is making it very difficult for me to see them this fall. They aren't making a stop in NC and are instead coming to Atlanta and Charlottesville, Virginia during the week on days that I simply cannot skip school (school is important). The only show I would be able to attend possibly would be in Tampa, Fl because it's on a Friday.

Now, my question is this: Will U2 be making another round in North America or is this it for me? I really don't want to make an 11 hour drive for a night so if they're planning on coming back to the southeast US in the future that will make my decision easier.

This would be my first U2 show and I am absolutely freaking out because I have to see them live to keep my sanity.

Please throw in your 2 cents in, folks... Thanks!

It is only the beginning of the tour and U2 often make more than 4 legs in a tour; they usually make a second trip back to America so don't worry  :)

But if you are worried, then I suggest you purchase tickets. Go and visit atu2.com and read "@U2's Ultimate Guide To Buying U2 Tickets." Believe me, it is really helpful  :)

Hope that helps :)

I believe they'll be back in the U.S. in 2010.
But, where they'll play is anyone's guess.
I hope for your sake they play Carolina..and for mine, they play New Orleans.

I get that school is important . . . I am a teacher.   But missed opportunities have a way of haunting one!  Have you picked your fall classes yet?  Maybe you will have a lighter load or be off for fall break around the time of one of the shows???  Good luck making your decision - but you have one life - you got to do what you should.   :)

Redguitar,

I may have better news for you than future legs - Raleigh, NC on Oct 3 is good possibility:

I was at that show in the Super Dome too. We changed seats about 3 times. If I remember correctly, the Dome was no where near capacity. Plenty of open seats.
Then after the show I ran into a friend in the French Quarter, and he shows me 4 tickets he got for free and had been trying to give away. Darn it, I could've seen U2 free of charge...lol

I understand that an opportunity missed like this will be a horrible burden to bear, which is why I am trying my best to not let it pass. I have already registered for my fall classes and it is a tough schedule but I am certain I'll make the right decision... I am simply a perfectionist and need to have all my ducks in a row before I commit to something  :-\

Thank you so much for your insight, efdeat  ;)

Wow. I read about this not too long ago and was elated and had planned to go but since then all talk of Raleigh had disappeared! This is definitely encouraging news!

Thank you, irishru2
