Hmmmm.  Good question!  Right now, I'm going to say Cedars of Lebanon.

I'm torn between Moment of Surrender (liked it right away) and Fez..which has really grown on me big time.

"White as Snow," with "Cedars of Lebanon" and "Moment of Surrender" as close runners-up

I'd say MOS.  Even though it is one of my 2 favorites on the album (I vary between MOS and Magnificent in the top spot), I can't imagine it as a single.  You would have to edit out the first minute, cut out a few of the parts between lyrics where it is only the instruments repeating the chord sequence before the next verse, and cut out part of the guitar solo, and it still would be 5:30.  Keep it as it is and keep it off the singles chart.  I also think that the lyrics may not work on top 40 radio.  Looking forward to hearing it live!

Definitely MOS. After a month of repeated listenings I'm tempted to say it's my #2 U2 song of all time, right behind "Bad."

Unknown Caller.

If this question was asked on March 4th, my answer would have been No Line on the Horizon but I've come to love Unknown Caller and NLOTH is static in my mind as a very good song but hasn't grown on me to be a great song worthy of one of U2's best.

Tie between Unknown Caller and FEZ-Being Born.  I'll never understand the consternation about UC.  It seems that often times, people want U2 to do different things, but things that are not, well, TOO terribly different, or else they (the listeners) get confused, embarrassed, etc!  For me, the chorus of UC couldn't be any other way, given the mood and feel of the music and the setting and context of the lyric.  I listen to it repeatedly on my daily long walks, and the chorus gives me chills.  This song is particularly effective @ the start of the "Linear" movie.  I think it's truly a modern hymn, as is much of the album.

As for FEZ--Being Born, I love how "inherently" cinematic that song is--actually to the point where I don't like it as much in the context of "Linear".  When I hear "Being Born", I get such a vivid image of moving through hills with whitewashed stucco buildings, or a kind of bright, Mediterranean landscape.  Edge is at his minimalist best as the song reached its crescendo--just plucking a few almost off-hand notes, but they are perfectly placed, and completely transcendent.  Indeed, I am disppointed in the visuals Anton Corbjin (sp?) used in the "Linear" movie for this track, but I think that's only because I have such a precise personal mental image when I hear it!
