Live tour downloads POLL
« on: December 05, 2008, 11:37:49 AM »
Thought I would start this poll , just to see what demand there is for offical downloads of U2 shows. I'm sure like most on this forum they have a collection of live bootlegs.

NB  I have used the price that the Counting Crows are charging for concert downloads in uncompressed FLAC format but obviously U2 may charge less/more but it gives a ballpark figure .

I have around 400 shows on CD of varying quality from all tours and to be honest I rarely listen to a U2 album as their live shows are when U2 are at their best. Also many shows have different setlists so it keeps the songs fresh , rather than listening to the rigid structure of an album.

Good thread  - especially in my opinion the albums are getting too 'slick'

That'd be so cool...

i'd probably download the show i'll attend plus a few more, depending on set list changes, mostly.

I'd kil for a soundboard version of Discothèque from the Vertigo tour.

Thought I would try to kick start this thread......
Talking of listening to live shows instead of albums, the best thing about it for me is when you find gems from live shows.

There is a version of Bad from a show at the Meadowlands NJ April 15th 1985 that is 18 minutes long and IMHO , having heard countless rendtions of Bad, this is THE ONE. Bono improvs for about 5 minutes.

If you haven't heard it check it out on the torrents or U2 hub.
Anyone else know of a special performance of other songs.........
