Touring Europe
« on: December 13, 2008, 01:58:05 AM »

I think that they are not coming to Europe this spring or summer. There is to much competition for them (AC/DC, Coldplay, Blur, Oasis, Depeche Mode, Eagles, are some of the acts who wil play at stadiums tis spring / summer).
Maybe they wil come here is the autumn or in 2010.

What do we know? When do we think the're comming?

(ps, sorry for the English)

I don't think those bands would stop U2 selling out gigs....  Who knows when they will tour Europe, depends when the album comes out, but hopefully it will be in 2009.

People can spend there money just once.
And I think that Coldplay, Depeche Mode and AC/DC are competition for U2.
There are also rumours that Springsteen and The Faces are going to tour, so it will be busy!
I have my hopes for a fall indoor tour ..  :) even for Europe.

I hope they play indoors too - especially if the gigs are later in the year and it's just less hassle all round

Needs to be summer to get use of the stadiums (most of them) they want to play because of the football season. So unless its a split (like Zoo TV) some indoor and then outdoor shows it could be summer 2010 before they hit Europe (pants!)

Faces are touring, Coldplay have booked Hampden in Glasgow for September 09 - so unless they've got dates in the diary already?

i don't think those bands will stop u2 playing stadiums in the summer here in the uk if indeed its going to be a summer tour.i don't see an indoor tour as much as id love to see it.the small arenas we have just don't pay and it would mean 5/6 shows a city to santisfy the demand. one or two stadiums shows would cover easily

I read a review about Daniel Lanois outdoor concert in the middle of a Canadian winter a few years ago "the audience gave up applauding with mitts and gloves, and instead, whistled and stomped their approval", that's what a U2 concert in Antarctica would be like.

You thought Red Rocks was a cool concert setting, imagine what this would be like!
