New Album by The Clash
« on: October 15, 2008, 07:47:37 PM »
Anyone get the new Clash album titled "Live at Shea Stadium"? It rocks pretty good. I saw them on this tour when I was 14. They were opening for The Who on their 'Farewell Tour'....the first one in '82.
Anyway, if you're a Clash fan then this CD is a must. They're in great form and the recording is a good one.

Track list:
1. Intro/London Calling
2. Police On My Back
3. The Guns of Brixton
4. Tommy Gun
5. Magnificent 7
6. Armagideon Time
7. Magnificent 7 (Return)
8. Rock The Casbah
9. Train In Vain
10. Career Opportunities
11. Spanish Bombs
12. Clampdown
13. English Civil War
14. Should I Stay Or Should I Go
15. I Fought The Law

I wish I could remember more of this show. It was 26 years ago afterall, but I do remember they had new mohawks and red jumpsuits.

....The Who and The Clash. Doesn't get much better than that!

Yeah I picked this up. Not bad at all. Didn't see the Clash, abit before my time. I did however see Joe perform on his last tour, he only did two more shows after that. :(

The second track, "Police On My Back", has an opening riff that sounds identical to the riff from "I Will Follow." :o

The Clash's track originally was on the album titled "Sandinista", which had a released date of 12/80 in the U.K.
And "Boy" was released in November of 1980. So unless these dates are wrong, this is quite a coincidence.
....you gotta here it though.

I adore The Clash... and The Who, for that matter! :D It's hard to beat the bass in "London Calling." Right up there with "New Year's Day" and "Lemon," in my opinion... I'm gonna have to look into this!

Thanks for the head's up, Hawk!  I'll have to check it out.
Funny, I was just listening to them in my car the other day...

The Clash were a great band, but they were not a good live band.  I'll pass on the live stuff.

Wow! I never heard of this! I was at that show. Saw several Bonds shows, Asbury Park and many more, but they were electrified that night!
Outside, there were no tickets and the crowd leaned a police barrier diagonally against the wall and I ran up and over the wall. Yippy!
Awesome, wet, freezing cold!
I wish I knew it would have been my final show.........
