What Should the Cover of "No Line on The Horizon" look like?
« on: December 19, 2008, 12:36:49 PM »
I'm hoping that the cover resembles Achtung Baby or Zooropa's style. All the other U2 albums this decade have had pictures of the band on them. I think it would be cool if they mixed it up a bit.

I think the cover should reflect the new and radical direction U2 claims to be taking with their new album

I don't want to see a band photo on the cover. I already know what they look like.

A picture of what the album is named after, with no band in it.

Yeah, band photograph covers are overrated.  Something that represents the album's concept would be better.

Yeah, I would have to vote (in these early days) against another band photo. I love Anton's work and I'm sure it will be sprinkled throughout the booklet, but we DO know what the band looks like and I think something more conceptual would work best (it is a very abstract title). I was just thinking that the cover of Atomic Bomb (note: no acronym) makes it look as if the band were "sitting this one out," or resting on their laurels. They need to do something more exciting with the next cover, make it a work of art. Just me two cents.

Naked chicks, man...naked chicks...better yet, make it a lenticular cover of naked chicks, so I get that delicious 3D effect...

Naked chicks with boots...haha

I'd like the album cover to be exotic...like a Mysterious Ways-ish sort of vibe to it

I think Guggi should do it for them. He is an amazing artist and would come up with something great. Problem is it might be bowls which wouldn't make any sense unless it was called No Bowls on the Horizon.  ;D Really though, Guggi would do an awesome cover.

Naked chicks?  Really, if anybody's going to be naked, it had beter be the band.  BTW, what does "lenticular" mean?

Probably a horizon, invert the colours, make it look a bit blurry and distorted.

Oh, and the band is old enough to be grandparents now...I'll pass on a naked shot of them.
