The gems they should play on tour
« on: June 08, 2009, 03:49:26 AM »
I was just thinking about what songs they should really dust off and play for this tour and any of the following I think would be ideal alongside the new album, live. Some are obviously wishful thinking.

Zooropa
Lemon
Please
A Sort of Homecoming
One Tree Hill
Bad
Last Night on Earth
Hawkmoon 269
Silver & Gold
Even Better Than The Real Thing
Ultraviolet (light my way)

Any thoughts are most welcome

I do like your list..........I would love to hear the following...
Unforgettable fire..I think Bono might still have the pipes for this one
Drowning man...has anyone ever heard them do this live?
A man and a woman...a lot of people hate it,I love it
Ultraviolet light my way
Gloria...this will take me back to when I was 13, first heard it on UBRS
The ground beneath her feet
Stay...Would like them to bring it back, loved the unplugged version on the Elevation tour
Two hearts beat as one...
Stories for boys...the first U2 song I heard as an impressional 11 year old
Running to a standstill
Red hill mining town
In Gods country
One tree hill

Alas I do not hold my breath them playing these wonderful tracks...but one can only dream. ;) ;D :) ;D

I'm going with:

Trip Through Your Wires
Your Blue Room
HMTMKMKM (love this song live)
So Cruel
Tomorrow
A Day Without Me

These are just a few i'd like to hear live...WOOHOO!!!

And I think others mentioned Ultraviolet...now that would rock too.

There seems to be a lot of consensus on many songs. I go along with these:

Ultraviolet
Hawkmoon 269
Acrobat
Red Hill Mining Town
Electrical Storm

If I just hear one of these, I'd be a happy camper.

I forgot to add "Miss Sarajevo." Does anyone know if it's been played live since the Sarajevo concert?

And U2Rebel... what does the bit at the bottom of your post mean?

Errr - only at every Vertigo concert except the first leg!

Check out the Milan DVD.

Miss Sarajevo would be a thrill to hear on this tour!  I know no one else here cares, but I would love to hear Grace AND Wild Honey   :P ;D!  I would also love Bono to sing Tomorrow, Gloria, If God Will Send His Angels, Two Hearts Beat As One and Love Comes Tumbling.

I'll probably think of so many more! The band would be on stage for a week if I had my way!

The only EVER snippet - Live At Red Rocks, at the end of 11 O'Clock Tick Tock!

Speaking of snippets, they played short snippets of songs on Elevation and longer versions on Vertigo.  I hope they stay with longer versions of whatever they play.  I love hearing songs from Boy, October, and War.
