And yeah, good point, those people need to extend their musical knowledge past Fallout Boy and the Pussycat Dolls.

Who?

Guess I'm guilty, but in the reverse!

Fall Out Boy - an 'emo' band (don't know how any of their songs are emotional  ???)
Pussycat Dolls - More sex objects than "musicians".

agreed. 100%.

I deal with all the same issues at my college. some of my peers make fun of me for liking "oldies" but I just accept the fact that they have a crappy taste in music.

but I have managed to convert many of my fellow teens. A lot of my friends are shocked when I play them a U2 song or a U2 concert video. My two best friends are now just as crazy about the boys as I am!!!

I'm actually quite surprised that a lot of people in my College know U2 (despite the daily bombardment of tasteless music).

There is still fire left in the U2 machine after all guys  ;D ;D

And still quite a lot of teenage and young adult fans. -25yo.

It's good that there is still quite a lot who appreciate such intelligent, cool, meaningful music such as U2.  8)

Some of my peers are like "You need to get into some popular music."
I'm thinking: Yeah... sure... whatever... No... you need to get into some BETTER music!
If you look you can find some recent music that is good. It's not all bad, sure it's not, But what gets me is how some people I know just don't want to look back. Just because a song is old, even a couple decades old or more, doesn't make it a bad song! That stuff influences current artists.
Like it gets me when someone says that they hate The Beatles. :o
I mean, at least show some respect for a group that was SO influential.

Anyway... I sure hope that NLOTH gets their positive attention. Oh boy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

U2s music is timeless. I could still swear that Discotheque sounded like it was released this decade!  ;D

I love U2's most recent work as well as their older. I just wish some more people my age knew about it!
 Oh well...

Maybe its because U2s music is a bit too creative and amazing for them, their normally used to dull and mainstream stuff.

I personally think that all U2 fans are kinda creative and full of ideas and all.

I think we are more intelligent than any other fans (and has to be said: much more civilized)

One of my friends thinks U2 fans have a superiority complex. I said it wasn't true, but the last few posts go against that somewhat!

Well we do have a right to think that U2 and it's fan are superior.....just because we are (in a way:P) - we even have a song called One!

I think it's kind of cool when I bring up a U2 song, and somebody isn't sure that they know it, but then I sing a little bit of it and they're like "Oh, yeah!"...
Some have heard them and don't know of them, like me before I became a huge U2 fan.
