... because U2 don't do what you want, they do what they want. I'd rather they play different songs, but come on, they've played Bad almost constantly on every tour for the past 25 years : that's enough!

Not for those of us who weren't at them, or didn't hear it when they were!

Go buy one of the many live albums or dvds where it was performed, or yell at your parents for not having sex and creating you earlier.

That was uncalled for.

But it was capable of putting a wry smile across my tired face.

Bad should, however, be played.

They played it in Toronto!!!!   It was their best song of the night, and Bono sang it fantastically!

Maybe they're saving it for NA :) Do you think the setlists will differ between legs?

I like Bad as well, but you can say this for SOOO many of their songs.  Why not just enjoy what they play?

band members sometimes ban songs from tours; Edge banned Bad from the Popmart tour.

Edge didn't do a very good job - it was played about 12 times on that one!

The best thing to do is start another thread on a web forum asking why your favourite song isn't being played, I find.

I do think that they'll change the setlists at least a bit between legs. It would make sense if they did, wouldn't it? I mean, many fans go to multiple shows during each leg and considering we're talking about U2 here, I think they might want to give those people the chance to hear different setlists.

i've been to 11 shows and they've only played it 3 times for me.  (Washington DC August 1992, Houston April 2001, Washington DC October 2005).  It's my favorite song, it's the one I want to hear more than anything else, it's the one that I regret missing every time I see a show and they don't play it...and yet, I'm pretty happy they don't play it every show.

It gives me that extra thrill every time I hear that it is played (when i get the boot from u2 start 48 hours later and obviously the times I hear it live in person) but if it were overdone, it would lose some of its quality.

here's to them playing it at FedEx in September.  Perhaps my greatest U2 concert moment was realizing, while standing on the edge of the ellipse completely exhausted, that they were gonna close that October 2005 show with Bad instead of Yahweh/Vertigo.  The next 10 minutes were among the greatest of my life.

They're probably "resting" that one, it was a staple for long enough that they may have needed a break from it. I had to wait 22 years to hear "An Cat Dubh" again, so don't feel too....er.....bad (I'm so sorry)

I dont think Bono could reach the demands of the vocal range of that song at this point.  It wouldn't do any justice if he sang it and had a painful time reaching the notes.  It would be embarressing in fact.  And it doesnt suprise me, Bono hasn't really pushed his voice to the optimum level of some songs so far.  For example Unforgettable Fire.   The last bit in the end of the song he laid back in really hitting the big notes.   And he hasn't did the falsetto part the comes with singing Ultraviolet, although its still fantastic.  Although its interesting he did the falsetto for One at the end.  So thats a bit confusing.   And obviously to me WOWY lacks the same passion it had from yesteryears.  Nonetheless I think Bad will be in the setlist eventually once he feels his voice ready for the pounding.

Bad does seem to have been curiously absent from the past few shows. I hope they bring it back this weekend in Wembley - after all, Live Aid at the old Wembley Stadium was a moment that immortalised that song...
