i've been lucky enough to see them live 9 times(5 on last tour) seen them in ireland ,wales and in us.i became a fan in '85 but didn't get to see them til 92 in birmingham.there is nothing like a u2 gig, the atmosphere, the expectancy and the pure joy of seeing them live is like nothing else .

I've seen them five times over the years.

Joshua Tree-Oakland CA
Zoo TV-Sacramento CA
Elevation-Oakland CA
Elevation-Sacramento
Vertigo-San Jose

All of the shows were awesome, but the last two were the best for me as I was right up front.  Took my son to the Vertigo show when he was 14, he had grown up with all of my craziness and finally found out what the old man was going on about, when Bono walked out and stopped right in front of us and started singing LAPOE.  Then the next day there was a picture of us on the front page of U2.com.  Awesome experience.

If you have not been?.....GO!
If you do not have the means?.....FIND THE MEANS!
You will not be disappointed.

I missed out on Popmart and the tours before JT but I was at the US festival in '83, but I was so far away I could not see U2.

I've never seen them either. I like this thread because I thought I was pretty much the only hardcore U2 fan that hadn't, but I guess I'm not!
I only became a fan a couple years ago though, after the Vertigo tour was already over. I've seen many DVDs though (believe me  ;D) and U23D.
That will all change this tour though...hopefully!  :)

Definitely no judgements here Boom Cha, only good wishes that you may experience the joy that is U2 live.

I really feel sorry for people like J2736 and others in more remote parts of their country, where U2 and presumably many other international acts just don't visit. It was frustrating enough that Australia missed out on seeing the Elevation tour, but to always miss out on a tour must be multiple times worse. If anyone tours down here, they will always play Sydney, but other state capitals like Adelaide (Hi Vlad) or Perth can sometimes miss out. The DVD's are great but there not the same as being there.

yes, we Perth ppl usually miss out  :'( but that hasn't stopped me  ;D I flew to Sydney to see Vertigo 2006 (x3 shows) and had to fly to Melbourne for Zoo 1993 but have been blessed to see every tour downunder in Perth since 1984 Live Under Australian Skies to date   ;D - all up seen U2 live 8 times

worth every $ spent, saving already for this tour as I do want/hope to see multiple shows again  ;D if I get lucky - my friends (casual U2 fans) thought I was 'mad' to go to more than 1 show as they thought "but isnt it the same show?" HARDLY - U2 tend to play other songs, mix it up a little, the setlist, so I'm so glad I did see ALL 3 shows last tour ! and after hearing all about it, some friends now want to join me in seeing mulitple shows this tour  :D it will be harder this time, demand for tix was crazy last time, let alone THIS time but I will be trying!!!! as long as I get to see 1 show this time, I will be happy, anything more I consider a bonus and a blessing

I always tell ppl you have to experience U2 LIVE at least ONCE! MORE, if you're lucky  ;)

I dont know! I have a feeling I am just going to waste my time waiting on the phone when they come on sale at 9:00 and at 9:01 they will be sold out. I would murder just to get the chance to see them but paying something I cannot afford is beyond me!

With telephones and now every internet connection a ticket office, is it any wonder gigs sell out so quick. Does anyone queue up any more?

I wonder how many of the people on here who have never seen U2 live are neither a) under 20 nor b) live outside of the US/Europe where U2 tours regularly.  I have a hunch that if you've been around a while and live within shouting distance of a U2 show, you've seen them at least once.  Just a hunch.

BTW, I'm 34 and I've seen them 11 times.  Last tour I took my wife all the way to Dublin (we live in DC) to see them in Ireland.  That was a great experience.

Well, they've been my favorite band since '01, I'm famous among friends for being obsessed, and I've never seen them live.  (I did go to U23D twice, but . . .)  I was just too darn frugal about the last two tours, and now I'm nervous that I won't get a ticket and that this will be their last show and  . . . oh how I hope I'm wrong on both counts!  My friend said "Are you going to burst into tears when they start playing?"  Reserved though I am, I might.

15, never have been to a concert of any band/artist, and hoping that this will all change this year if U2 comes to Pennsylvania.

miami, I was in Omaha when they were on the Vertigo tour. I tried to win tickets at one of the casinos in Iowa (they were having a ticket raffle party) but unfortunately I didn't  :'(

I've only seen them once, Elevation tour in Chicago...had nosebleed seats and some guy behind me spilled his beer and soaked my jacket; needless to say, it was a cold walk back to the car. Luckily I was numb from the excitement of having just attended my first U2 concert!

I have never seen them either :(

This year however, I am going to bust my butt to see them.  The closest they have ever come to playing where I live is when they played Winnipeg in 1997 but I was busy following Oasis at the time.  I've decided this year is the year I will FINALLY see U2 though.  Might have to do it in conjunction with a trip to North Carolina this fall if it works out, or might have to WestJet it out to Vancouver if they play there, but I am going to get there somehow!!!
