I know that they wouldn't continue. I know no one could live up, but just for kicks I think that Euwing McGregor would make a decent frontman.

Gavin Friday could replace Bono......

But in my dreams George Bush (just would love to see him dodge something - other than a shoe of course  ;))

Refer to INXS - it would never work.

Naturally I would vote like everyone else that no one truy and replace any of the guys, but the onslaught of cover bands got me thinking. Maybe I should ask, if you would continue to buy albums and such if a really great replacement was found. ---Don't lie.

No. I wouldn't buy "replacement" U2 albums. U2 are who they are. Take away one, that's it. The magic is gone. (For me, at least.) Besides, to be even more simplistic, U2 are an Irish band. They are unique in that sense if no other. No way an American or a Canadian or a Brit or a what have you could fill that void. It wouldn't be the same band at all. And, the guys are all friends. An outsider wouldn't work out. One member dies or cashes in and that's the end of U2. And I've said more than I meant to.

Major apologies. I knew I was asking for it. Apparently I committed U2 heresy. *backs out of the room with head bowed reverently. *

Don't apologize. It's all good.  8)

It's an interesting topic. We just all love U2 so much, we can't see them any other way.

But, there's no need to apologize.   ;D

Please refer to the current case with Guns N' Roses.
Thank you...

U2 can never replace one of its own.

We're one but we're not the same,
