6 Night Stand--2 Albums Played Each Night
« on: January 11, 2009, 11:24:42 AM »
What if U2 did a 6 night stand and played 2 albums each night in their entirety....and you only could only go/afford one night...

Boy/Horizon
October/Atomic Bomb
War/ATYCLB
UF/Pop
JT/Zooropa
R&H(new stuff...Angel of Harlem, etc.)/Achtung Baby

My initial thought would be Boy/Horizon b/c I would want to see the new stuff performed live....but, jeez...I would love to see War or Zooropa performed in their entirety too.

Mmmmm that is a hard one! I would say Boy/Horizon to see how that started to where they are now! But for me, War/All that you can't leave behind is nice. (and October/Bomb of course!).

Oh why did you have to throw the new album into the mix !

Horizon/ UF from what we have heard about the new album sounds like this would be a good combination .
discounting the new album it would be Achtung Baby / Zoorpoa what a show that would be .

Is it possible to change this question to make it a poll?  That way you'd get respondants to stick to the choices you offer.

If the choices are the combos you listed then let me rank them:

1) JT/Zooropa
-Because Zooropa is my favorite album and JT is U2's most classic album.
2) UF/Pop
-Not their two most popular albums, but an underrated album and a favorite of most U2 fans.  Plus, seeing UF played in it's entirety would be really cool because it works the best as a full album.
3) Boy/Horizon
-Would be cool to hear where they started to where they are now.
4) R&H/Achtung Baby
-Hard choice between this and number five.  Not much of a fan of R&H, but Achtung Baby balances it out by being U2's best album.
5) War/ATYCLB
-I really like both of these albums, but compared to U2's other work these are both middle of the road to me.
6) October/HTDAAB
-By far in last place because I consider these two be by a large margin U2's worst two albums.

Given the original choices, I think I would choose War/ATYCLB. Those two would make an interesting juxtaposition, and I love both of those performed live.
