Being proactive about the return of Unknown Caller...
« on: October 14, 2009, 11:13:30 AM »
I am trying to remember if the end of Unknown Caller is the moment where Edge has pulled out a Snow Globe & placed it on stage.  Does anyone remember the snow globe moments from the earlier shows on the US side of the tour?  I think it is at the end of Unknown Caller and if that's the case, this is what we should do.

Someone in GA bring a snow globe to the show and have it sent to Edge's side of the inner circle.  Get the folks on the front rail to pass it to security & have them put it at Edge's feet.  Of course this may require some schmoozing pre-show/pre-Muse/post-Muse, but it's possible, right?

Maybe Unknown Caller is not in the mix because we're not doing our part... :)

I hope the "it could be a bomb" issue wouldn't stop that, if attempted.

There's no need to bring a snow globe. The band supplies their own. And it isn't a simple matter to place it on stage, because there's quite a distance to reach.

I saw them do this in Chicago and Toronto (I think I have photos of both.) Then the song and the globes vanished.

never heard of the snowglobe thing...  Oddly, I had just finished reading Willie's diary from the U2.com site, right before coming here.  It had a picture of a security sign reading:

"Please be advised, snowglobes are not allowed through the security checkpoint"

This had me wondering - Has there been some kind of snowglobe problem?  Big enough to necessitate a sign?

I am gonna project my hopes onto this coincidence, and willfully plunge into fantasyland, making myself believe this is a sign Unknown Caller will return for Vegas and LA

LOL... LOL LOL LOL.

OK, this makes me howl.

Here's why.

In Chicago, Edge had a Chicago snow globe (I was actually going to start a thread about this before).

Out souvenir hunting on our last day in Chicago, what did we come across but the exact one he had.  Of course had to buy it and friend bought one too,

I put them both in my carry on of course, and then when I get to security - DENIED.  It was a big crazy thing, had to end up checking a carry on, get escorted back to the airline desk to do it and then back through security, all for Edge's damn Chicago snow globe.

Who knew?

LOL!!!

Oh yeah, and the carry on we had to check at the last minute was soft-sided, so I didn't think they would come out alive... surprisingly they did ;)

I'm a tad confused...exactly what sort of security risk does a snow globe pose again??????
