I know Edge and Bono wrote 'Goldeneye' for Tina Turner, but I'm surprised U2 have'nt recorded the music for a Bond movie. Especially as the title songs over the last decade have been so dire.

U2 have a proven track record of writing great film scores. They are also a big band all over the world who will give a Bond film a lot of extra publicity. Most importantly they are likly to write a strong song.

I think it'd be neat.

I think that The Killers are doing the next one....I'm not sure, but I hope so!  8)

I remember when they wrote the song for Tina Turner.  I always wanted to hear what that song would have sounded like if U2 performed it.  That would have been so cool.  I'm not a huge Tina fan.

Thanks for that. Interesting. It's a song more suited to Tina Turner vocals.

I have no desire to see this happen. This band does not suffer from lack of exposure.

Just because we all love them so much.....doesn't mean we want them to be overexposed, which is exactly what that would do....the spioderman thing is enough.

I've always wanted to see them write and perform their own song for a Bond film. Considering that the new themes have more of a rock edge to them (no pun intended) I think U2 would fit the bill perfectly.

I'm with Nagrom and Joe90 on this.

Think U2 did their bit when they did the Hold me,Thrill me song 4 Batman.

That Jack White/Alicia Keys one was horrendous.

I'd like to see Kings of Leon do a Bond tune but somehow can't see them agreeing to it, although they are getting more mainstream by every album. Much to my dismay.

I always thought TUF sounded a bit like a Bond song.

:D Aren't we too big to be a cult? Then again, but maybe there is something to it. Need to look up the exact definition of a cult. Maybe we qualify.
