Happy Birthday Mr. Lawrence Mullen, Jr. You did start it all as a boy with a simple note on a school bulletin board. Little did you know then the journey you would take after that!!!  WOW!  30 years later you and your band mates have touched so many lives through your music. You truly are the conscience of U2. You speak the truth and keep U2's feet on the ground. You are a very private person who has experienced great loss in your life. I was always touched by your story and how you handled things. You are a true gentleman and a role model in the man that you have become.  Your mother and your sister would have been so very proud of you.   (Oh and well, I am a woman, so I must end with ...you are kind of cute  ;) :D!!!)

Happy Birthday and many, many more!!!!!

Strong Girl-- your post has made me think that you never know what greatness will come from even the smallest dream and gesture. I doubt Larry imagined what was going to happen when he posted that flyer and just how many lives he was going to touch and change. It is amazing when you think about it. . . .

It really is, Beli. I just wanted to add here that everyone of you should follow your dream. It starts with very small steps like posting a note. You never , ever know where it will take you if you don't take that first small step!

OK - enough preaching from SG!
Back to Larry's party!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ;D ;D ;D

Happy Birthday, good lookin'.  Like I said, I'm wearing my LMJ bongo-ing on pumpkins shirt all day in honor of my 2nd favorite drummer (hubby is #1).

Hope the man who keeps us rockin' is enjoying his day.

Larry........the brakes on what is known as the runaway train called U2.  When U2 start to veer into a direction that Larry deems unsafe or unwise, out come the brakes.

Happy birthday Larry!  Without you, we wouldn't have U2, and that is a tragic thought.  So thanks for posting that note so many years ago, and thanks for being the rock at the base of this band.  You were an inspiration to me as a young percussionist in dorchestra and you still inspire me today.  Keep pounding!  We love you!

What would this world be like without Larry Mullen?  We would have never seen a U2 concert.  Where the Streets Have No Name would not exist.  The drumming od Sunday Bloody Sunday that everyone on this earth knows as Larry's, would be a stranger to the ear, the mind, and the soul.  Larry introduced the world to the talent known as U2.  To Bono, The Edge, and Adam Clayton, the men that have changed the world along with himself.  Happy Birthday Larry, we love you.  Keep lighting our way for many more songs, albums, concerts, tours, and years to come

Happy Birthday Larry!
You're the heart of the band with the biggest heart in the world.
Here's to many more years of laying down some of the greatest beats in rock and roll and soul. Seeing you run around the stage smacking bongos during Crazy Tonight in Chicago was one of the most joyous and free moments I've ever experienced. Thank you.
P.S. You're the cutest one and you know it  ;)
